Day 1: Departure

Day 1: Early departure from Cusco toward Cusipata, where a buffet breakfast is enjoyed. The journey continues to Predio Ausangate, the starting point of the trek (optional by horse or on foot). Along the way, you'll visit stunning lakes including Ausangate, Qorisonqo, Turquesa, and Congelada, all surrounded by breathtaking glaciers. The day ends in Upis with lunch, free time, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 2: After

  • Day 2: After breakfast, we begin the trek toward the 7 Lakes of Ausangate, crossing Andean landscapes, mountains, and local communities. We visit several vividly colored lakes, including Azulcocha, with stops at natural viewpoints. We then descend to the Pacchanta hot springs to unwind, followed by lunch and the return to Cusco. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ROUTE
  • Laguna Qorisonqo: Renowned for its authentic colors, making it an ideal spot for photography and video.
  • Lagunas Ausangate: This lake is visible at the beginning of the route and is one of the most beautiful along the way, surrounded by mountains and a waterfall cascading around it.
  • Ausangate Glaciers: The star of the route. It is the fifth-highest mountain in Peru and considered sacred by Andean peoples. The views are breathtaking, with eternal snows and a mystical aura.
  • Laguna Congelada: Located high up in the Ausangate Glaciers, you'll encounter a scene blanketed in snow.
  • Laguna Azulcocha: A deep blue on clear days, its hue shifts with the sunlight and depth of the water.
  • Laguna Otorongo: A lake of dark waters surrounded by rocky formations; its name is derived from the Amazonian feline.
  • Laguna Otorongo Macho: Similar to the previous one, but larger in area and depth.
  • Laguna Pucacocha: Displays reddish or brownish tones due to the presence of minerals in the soil.
  • Laguna Alqacocha: Features clearer waters, set in an open area with gentle slopes.
  • Laguna Qomercocha: Greenish in tone, the result of algae and dissolved minerals.
  • Pacchanta Hot Springs: Natural thermal pools located above 4,300 m a.s.l., at the foot of Nevado Ausangate. With water temperatures between 35°C and 45°C, these mineral-rich pools are perfect for relaxing after the hike while enjoying direct views of the glaciers.
